In the beginning

“In the beginning” - they tell me it started

With those escalating requirements of faith.

I’m sure that I’ve picked up that book, at the least

Along with some others thought of the same way.

And in our beginning - the syllables mount

Softly, seductively, then all at once

As did our feelings, those hidden inside us

A lifetime, resting and waiting for whom they deserve.

I wonder if those men of faith had been chosen

Because they had recently fallen in love?

A higher assurance of words which were worthy

For praising the one who created their world. 

This is a work in progress, with verses added on a fairly willy-nilly basis. I'll probably update it as I go along.
